Campaign Concept

In close collaboration and coordination with you, we develop campaign concepts that fit your brand and target audience. This requires careful identification of the user base, clear formulation of the message, and selection of suitable channels, platforms, and media for distribution.

From briefing to channel plan

It starts with a briefing that states what the campaign should achieve and how anyone would recognise it: inquiries, orders, newsletter sign ups, job applications or awareness within a clearly defined market. From that goal we derive the message, usually as one core statement with variants per channel, because a search ad headline works differently from a trade fair banner.

The channel plan follows. Each channel gets a job rather than a copy of the same asset: search captures existing demand, social and display create it, email and retargeting keep interested people moving. Alongside it sits an asset list covering every format that has to be produced, from square and vertical ad visuals through video cutdowns in several lengths to landing page copy and subject lines.

In parallel we set up the measurement plan: consistent UTM parameters, named conversion events and a clear statement of which number answers which question. Schedule, approval steps and responsibilities live in the same document, so production does not stall in review loops. That includes who writes which text and by when image material has to exist.

Occasions that justify a concept

A dedicated concept pays off when something new enters the market or something fundamental changes: a product launch, a trade fair appearance with a run up and a follow up, opening a location, a rebrand, entering another country, or a recruiting push for roles that are hard to fill.

Running performance campaigns where the message and the visuals are settled and only budgets and audiences get adjusted do not need a new concept. That is optimisation work on an existing setup. And if the website or the shop cannot serve the demand a campaign creates, because the contact form is hard to reach or the checkout is unreliable, that gap should be closed first. Otherwise the campaign feeds attention into a system that loses it again.

A concept also becomes valuable once several departments are involved. As soon as sales, HR and marketing communicate at the same time, the outside picture turns contradictory without a shared line. The concept then settles which statement leads and which one supports it.

Where campaigns break down in execution

The most common break sits between the ad and its destination. Someone who clicks a specific promise and lands on a generic homepage leaves again. A landing page that picks up exactly what the ad said is therefore part of the concept, not a later addition.

The second break sits in measurement. Without consistent campaign and source parameters, results cannot be separated after the fact. Consent adds another layer: without permission many tracking mechanisms simply do not fire, which makes reported numbers look smaller than the real effect. That gap can be estimated but not argued away, and the legal assessment belongs with your data protection or legal advisors.

Then come the practical items. Creative wears out fast in narrow audiences, so variants are planned from the start. Usage rights for images, music and recordings of people should be settled before production, including duration and channels. And assets are built so they can still be used once the campaign has ended.

Frequently asked questions

What does a campaign concept actually contain?

The goal and how success is judged, a description of the audience, the core message with per channel variants, the channel and timing plan, a list of assets to be produced including formats, and the measurement plan with source parameters and conversion events. Responsibilities and approval steps come with it. The document is written so an external production team or your own department can work from it directly.

Do you also handle ad buying and media budgets?

Concept, message, assets and landing pages come from us. We set campaigns up inside your own advertising accounts, so accounts, data and payment details stay with you. If a media agency already works for you, we deliver the concept in a form they can pick up directly. You keep control of the budget itself, and we agree the split across channels with you.

Does a campaign need its own landing page?

Usually yes, as soon as the campaign makes a specific promise. A dedicated page can align message, imagery and form with that one occasion and is easy to measure cleanly. For a narrowly defined offer, an existing product or service page adapted for the purpose can be enough. What matters is that the path from ad to inquiry runs without a break in it.

How do we tell whether a campaign worked?

Before launch we define which action counts as success and set up events and source parameters for it. During the run we look at reach, clicks and those events separately per channel. Afterwards we compare that against what sales actually received. A short question in the form asking how someone heard about you helps too, because it exposes the gaps that technical measurement leaves behind.

Can we reuse our existing brand assets?

Yes, and it is usually the better route. We review what still holds up from your corporate design, image library and earlier campaigns and only add what is genuinely missing. Often it is not the visuals that are missing but the formats, for example vertical crops or short video versions. Where usage rights have expired or only cover certain channels, we flag that before production starts.
