What does it mean that KOMMERS is a Stripe partner?
KOMMERS is part of the Stripe Partner Ecosystem, the official programme Stripe runs for agencies and implementation firms. It means Stripe has verified us as an implementation partner and that we work with the same documentation, release information and support channels Stripe gives its partners. KOMMERS remains an independent company: the partnership is not a joint venture, and we are not employed or controlled by Stripe.
Which Stripe certifications does your team hold?
Our team currently holds 4 Stripe certifications: Professional Payments Architect, Professional Payments Developer, Professional Billing Developer and Professional Platform Developer. Every certificate is publicly verifiable, and each one is linked from this page so you can check it yourself rather than take our word for it.
Do you work with WooCommerce and Shopify, or only with custom software?
Both. Most of our work runs on WooCommerce and WordPress, which is where we have the deepest experience, and we also build on Shopify, Shopware and custom applications. The payment layer is the same in every case: the same checkout logic, the same webhooks and the same reconciliation with your accounting, adapted to the system you already run.
Can you migrate an existing shop to Stripe?
Yes. We migrate existing shops, including live subscriptions and stored payment credentials, so that recurring customers keep paying without having to re-enter their details. We plan the migration in a staging environment first, run both systems in parallel where that makes sense, and only switch the live traffic once the numbers reconcile.
Is a Stripe setup GDPR-compliant for a German business?
It can be, and that is part of the work. We look at where data is processed, what your checkout and tracking actually transmit, which consent your cookie banner has to collect, and what belongs in your privacy policy and your processing records. You get a German company as your contractual partner and a documented setup you can show to your own data protection officer.
How does a project with you start?
It starts with a payments check. You tell us in a few sentences what you sell and which system you run, and we come back within 24 hours with an honest assessment: what your current setup costs you in failed payments and manual work, what we would change first, and roughly what that takes. No sales call unless you ask for one.
