Website Maintenance:
Care & Development

A website is not finished at launch. We keep websites, shops and platforms running afterwards: updates, security, backups, monitoring and ongoing development.

Several of the projects we maintain have been running for years with regular releases. We also take over websites that other agencies built, after an honest assessment and without rebuilding everything.

Development & Consulting

For WordPress we offer fixed maintenance packages in three tiers, details on our WordPress agency page. For Shopify shops there is a dedicated Shopify maintenance page. For all other systems we quote based on effort, after an assessment.

Switching agencies? We take over existing websites

If your current agency no longer responds, has shut down or the cooperation simply does not work anymore, you do not need a new website. You need someone who takes over the existing one. We start with an assessment: code, hosting, update status, open issues. Only then do we say what we recommend. In most cases the result is a takeover without a rebuild. If a rebuild really is the better option, we tell you that too, with reasons.

Project Example: Oerlinghausen Marketing

The Task

The city marketing of Oerlinghausen runs a grown WordPress website with a shop and an event calendar, originally built by another provider. The website needed a team that takes over maintenance and keeps developing it, without rebuilding what already works.

The Solution

  • Assessment first, then takeover of the existing WordPress installation
  • Ongoing maintenance: updates, security and backups
  • Newly built: photo contest module with uploads and online voting
  • Shop and event calendar extended

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does website maintenance cost?

For WordPress we offer fixed maintenance packages in three tiers, depending on scope. For other systems and custom applications we quote based on the actual effort, after looking at your website first. You will not get a price without us knowing what we are taking on.

Do you take over websites built by other agencies?

Yes, regularly. We start with an assessment: code, hosting, update status, open issues. Then we take over the existing website without rebuilding it. One public example is Oerlinghausen Marketing, an existing WordPress website that we took over and have been extending since, including a newly built photo contest module with online voting.

What happens if my website goes down?

Our monitoring notifies us automatically when a website becomes unreachable or errors pile up. We then investigate and fix the cause. We do not promise fantasy response times, but outages reach us directly instead of waiting for someone to notice and write an email.

Do I need a maintenance contract?

Not necessarily. A contract makes sense if your website matters to your business, because updates and monitoring then happen continuously instead of on demand. For occasional changes we also work on a per-task basis. We will tell you honestly which model fits your situation.

Which systems do you maintain?

WordPress and WooCommerce, Shopify, and custom applications built with Next.js. Several of the projects we maintain have been running for years with regular releases. If your system is not on this list, ask us, an assessment will show whether a takeover makes sense.
